At the end of the day death is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean we have to fear it. It’s simply a transition, from one world to another one. In one way it’s finally getting the answer to the question that burns in us all, what comes next? From a religious point of view we have the idea of a heaven and a hell, but what really is that? Sure there are descriptions of it but these are mere placeholders, words to give meaning to an otherwise inconceivable realm. Lush gardens, rivers of milk and honey, all of these are descriptions of grandeur, of a paradisaical nature, but they are terms that belong to the physical world, they are mere glimpses, shattered fragments of the metaphysical nature of paradise. In our own world God’s existence is seen through echoes, through his manifestation in each earthly thing. It is only in that metaphysical realm, In that plane of existence so beyond the scope of our own that every aspect of god can be realized in it’s totality.
So yes death is inevitable, but it doesn’t have to be feared, it is a return to our true origin.
“We are from God and to him we will return.” (Quran 2:156)
